Suze Ormond is the resident money-guru on the Oprah Winfrey show.
Her advice is usually simple and straightforward. She must be pretty good because I agree with most of what she says. Her latest offering explains the origins of this latest downturn in the economy and how we can best deal with the challenging times ahead.
Some chapters are a bit blood curdling, like pay off your credit card and make sure you spend less than you earn. Then there is this really strange concept that she calls a savings account. She may also be in trouble with Child Protection Agencies for her suggestion that we say “no” to our children when they want every possible gismo, whatever it costs.
Anyway, until January 15 (about lunchtime on the 16th in Australia), Oprah is giving her book away for free.
